News / Guild Ranks
« Last post by Jonny on March 24, 2015, 07:04:17 PM »
Here is a quick reference of what the ranks are that you see in game.

Leader: An active member of the group of friends that created this guild
Captain: A trusted member who is in charge of a certain aspect (e.g. guild missions)
Sergeant: A trusted member who can invite new members and will assist officers in their duty. This is where Officers are promoted from or go to if they step down/ become somewhat inactive.
Veteran: An ex-Leader/Founder or Captain that no longer holds their rank but remains trusted enough to be able to invite others to the guild. Beyond that they are the same as a member.
Member: A regular member of the guild
Trial Member: A new member of the guild that has experience no more than either one week or two weeks in the guild. This gives everyone a nice period of time to determine if the guild is what the person is looking for.
Friend: A long time member of the guild (>1 year) who has since left the guild but we want to maintain links with. Alt Accounts also go into this rank.
Inactive: Someone who has given a valid reason for long term inactivity or is inactive in game while still active with the guild outside of the game.

Please note that while those in the Sergeant ranks and higher will ensure rules are followed, they are not otherwise above you and can be disagreed with or reported for violation of rules. Overall, the titles of Veteran, Sergeant, Captain and leader are names and that's it. They are not titles to be lusted after and they do not make your opinion more important than anyone else's.
Introductions and AFK / Guild Rules
« Last post by Jonny on March 24, 2015, 06:42:05 PM »
Welcome to the Brothers of Aesir guild! If you haven't already you should totally post an introduction (hint, hint) ;).

We do have a few rules that you should keep in mind while playing GW2, don't worry they're simple :) .

You are expected to follow the terms of service you agreed to when you created an account for GW2, abuse such as buying from gold sellers will result in an immediate kick from the guild.

This is a social, community focused guild and as such you are expected to not be a dick. simply put: you should be willing to help other guildies and even on occasion those outside the guild who ask  for it and you must certainly not abuse other players, guildies or not.

Not so much a rule but a thing: you will get out of the guild what you put in. If you are silient and don't join in on guild chat or on TS, if you don't join in on guild activities or invite people join in on things you are doing then don't expect much.

If you are going to be AFK for a while then let us know on the forums. If you are gone for more than 21 days without letting us know then expect a kick. However when we do kick we will send an e-mail that will allow you to get back in contact with us incase you would like to rejoin when you start playing the game again.

To be perfectly honest we were going to be having a discussion with you about your recent conduct anyway, so at least you've made this easier moving forward.

As a word of advice, try to chill out a little in future and be a bit more positive, 99% of the issues you describe stem from the fact that you do nothing but complain constantly.

I have no idea if you'll come back to read this or not, but good luck in your future endeavours.

I don't think it's working out in the long run. (mainly because my opinion isn't worth shit and the fact that people are getting frustrated and snarky when things go not as planned, which makes playing together not enjoyable for me and discussions unnecessarily tiresome.)

Best of luck with FIVE and maybe we see each other at ToL2, may we all win adorable mini llamas!

Talking to Foz and Dan about it on TS I think provided we can get a team that can commit to be available on the necessary dates then yes, we're definitely interested in entering.

Just got to remember that we need to make sure our team is all free to enter first :)

I'm not sure how I feel about this currently. On one hand it's too early, on the other hand it's about time.

We would have to sign up for it June 13th (tomorrow) and have about a month to practice if people would be interested in it.

It's limited to 128 teams (not sure how many signed up last time) but I highly doubt it's gonna be that many.

So, is anyone seriously interested to work towards this? We would have to practice quite a bit to even stand a chance but probably could win 1-2 matches.

All I told him was that watching him play was no actual preparation for actually facing him, plus a GG.

I just thought it was polite -.- fuck.

- Playing against [TCG] and reaching 114 points (because they let us, basically): (our part starts at 56:30)

Starting at 01:11:17, Rom is starting to make fun of Matt whispering him like a groupie.  ::)

quote from Helseth before the match: "Five Average Guys - okay they're fucked"

What we should learn from watching the vid: COMMUNICATION. Announce where the enemy is. Announce where are you going. Announce when you go down, your enemy is down and you stomp them. etc
